Stallone to star in TV version of Mario Puzo's OMERTA

Decades after he was strongly considering Godfather III, it looks like Sylvester Stallone is finally joining the Mafia in a proposed TV series based on Mario Puzo's last novel, Omerta. Added into the mix is the fact that Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, The Magnificent Seven) is directing the first episode from a script by Justin Herber and Adam Hoff. Stallone will be portraying Raymonde Aprile, considered to be the last great American don. Produced by The Weinstein Compoany, the intent is to get a network to come on board for a full series commitment.

This is a big turn for Stallone, an Academy Award nominee for his portrayal of Rocky Balboa in Ryan Cogler's Creed.

Omerta was published in 2000, about a year after Puzo's death.

We've seen where Daenerys is headed in 'Game of Thrones' back in season 1

The "Game of Thrones" season six premiere
centered around Jon Snow , Sansa Stark , and the
controversial Sand Snakes . But we also had a
close look at Daenerys Targaryen's latest
adventure in Essos.
Daenerys was last seen in season five in a field
after she wandered away from Drogon . A
khalasar of Dothraki found and captured
her, and brought her back to their khal. We saw
this play out in the first season six episode,
when Daenerys was presented to Khal Moro and
he threatened to rape her
Khal Moro was very close to undressing Daenerys in
front of his khalasar.

Daenerys managed to talk her way out of any
abuse by convincingly informing Khal Moro that
she was the former wife of Khal Drogo, and
khaleesi to his khalasar. Thankfully, he takes her
at her word and says she will not be touched by
anyone in his khalasar. Sleeping with another
khal's wife is against the Dothraki code of
honor, even if he is dead.
But, when Daenerys requests that he help her
return to Meereen, Khal Moro and his own
khaleesi tell her there is only one place for the
wife of a dead khal: Vaes Dothrak, the only
Dothraki settlement.
If Vaes Dothrak doesn't sound familiar, it's
because the last time it was mentioned was
during season one. Khal Drogo brought
Daenerys there when she was pregnant with his child

Daenerys in season one.

New khaleesis have to visit Vaes Dothrak and be
presented to the Dosh Khaleen — a group of
former khaleesis who are revered and respected
by the Dothraki.
The Dothraki people do not live in town or
villages, and they don't build huts or permanent
shelters. They roam through the Dothraki sea in
groups (khalasars) and only return to Vaes
Dothrak when they have conquered a group of
people. Each time they pillage a new place,
Dothraki take the statues and idols from the city
and bring them to Vaes Dothrak.
The buildings in Vaes Dothrak were all built by
slaves, never by the Dothraki themselves, and it
is against Dothraki custom to allow steel blades
to be drawn. Vaes Dothrak is a sacred place, and
spilling blood there is sacriligious. That's one
reason why Khal Drogo killed Viserys Targaryen
with molten gold — he couldn't draw his blade
in Vaes Dothrak.

Khal Drogo had no love for his brother-in-law Viserys.

In season one, Daenerys preformed a
ceremonial horse-heart eating in front of the
Dosh Khaleen, a scene many fans won't soon
forget. While Khal Drogo watched and the Dosh
Khaleen chanted, she chowed down on a raw
horse heart using nothing but her hands and
teeth.

Daenerys ate that horse heart in beast mode.

The Dosh Khaleen range in age, since they join
the club whenever their husband's die. In a
violent and unpredictable place like the
Dothraki Sea, that could mean when they're
teenagers or when they're middle aged. Here's
one look we got at a member of the Dosh
Khaleen in season one:
An unnamed woman from the Dosh Khaleen.

The older women ("crones") are considered to
be the respected and listened to almost like
shamans or high priestesses. They are the only
Dothraki people who live permanently in Vaes
Dothrak.
Vaes Dothrak has no walls — just an entryway
featuring two horse sculptures. This is what it
looks like in season one:

Vaes Dothrak's entrance in season one.

HBO released a clip of Daenerys arriving in Vaes
Dothrak in season six. The set has changed a lot
since the first season. Now, the settlement is in a
sandy desert area, and the horse statues are
high above the people.
Take a look:
Vaes Dothrak in season six.

An overview of Vaes Dothrak from the sky.

So Khal Moro and his khalasar are planning on
bringing Daenerys to Vaes Dothrak, where she
will be forced to live for the rest of her life —
according to tradition.
Anyone who's been paying attention to
Daenerys would bet that she won't be too happy
at this plan. But under the watch of the
khalasar, how can she escape? Perhaps Jorah
and Daario will track her to Vaes Dothrak and
rescue her.
Or maybe Drogon will wake up from his nap
and realize his mother isn't where she's
supposed to be. He did rescue her from the
fighting pits in Meereen, after all. And if you've
been keeping up with the trailers for the new
season , it looks like Drogon may come to her
rescue again.
Drogon's shadow can be clearly seen among the
Dothraki.

Perhaps he will blowtorch Vaes Dothrak just like
the Sons of the Harpy. We'll have to wait for
another few episodes to know for certain, but at
least now you'll understand this mysterious city
a little more.

TYRANT Season 3 Release Date Confirmed

There’s nothing fans hate more than a show ending without a
resolution, and luckily that won’t be the way Tyrant is going.
Similar to the first season, 10 episodes will be produced for
Season 3. Season 2 had 12 episodes, although 13 were ordered
initially.
Since Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger, it’s not a huge surprise that FX would give the show the opportunity to at least explain that storyline during a third
season. In the finale, Barry's older brother Jamal was shot, and
was left on the floor dying in what could be described as a Jon
Snow moment thereby leaving the future of Abuddin in his brother Barry’s hands.

Season 3 of Tyrant will premiere on Wednesday, July 6 at
10/9c, FX has announced.

X-Men: Apocalypse final trailer features Wolverine

to their word, the studio has debuted the
latest footage, which showcases all-new
footage from this superhero adventure, set to
arrive in theaters nationwide May 27. X-Men:
Apocalypse is set 10 years after the events of
X-Men: Days of Future Past and 20 years
after X-Men: First Class, taking place in the
year 1983. And this latest trailer teases the
arrival of the iconic Wolverine, played by
Hugh Jackman.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was
worshiped as a god. Apocalypse , the first and
most powerful mutant from X-Men universe ,
amassed the powers of many other mutants,
becoming immortal and invincible. Upon
awakening after thousands of years, he is
disillusioned with the world as he finds it
and recruits a team of powerful mutants
known as The Four Horsemen , including a
disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender),
to cleanse mankind and create a new world
order, over which he will reign.
As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance,
Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of
Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team
of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis
and save mankind from complete
destruction. Reprising their roles from X-
Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future
Past are Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Rose Byrne

Aliens are back for annihilation in New 'Independence Day: Resurgence' trailer

Aliens return to Earth to finish some unfinished
civilization-erasing business in Independence
Day: Resurgence , the sequel to the 1996
blockbuster film. After previous previews have
teased the film's 20-years-later plot and immense
destruction, the latest trailer for the upcoming
film provides some more background into what's
happened in the two decades since the aliens first
attacked.
In the sequel, actress Maika Monroe plays the
daughter of Bill Pullman's former President
Whitmore, while Liam Hemsworth plays her love
interest and fellow pilot Jake Morrison. The
trailer also devotes plenty of screen time to the
aliens' revised method of annihilation: Instead of
beaming a pulverizing beam of light into densely
populated areas, they utilize anti-gravity
technology to literally uproot cities and then drop
them into certain doom.

' Vikings' season 4, episode 11 Return date

Vikings has come to a close for the time being … but
the good news is that this is far from the end of the show’s run for season 4, in 2016.

there are 20 episodes
this year as opposed to the typical 10, and they are being split
up into two halves. The first portion of the story is what you
watched up until tonight, and then the second half is something
that you’re going to have to wait on for a little while.
At the moment, History has not specified much in terms of a
return date, but they have said in the past that the second batch
of episodes will air this fall. Specifically what we know is that
there is a major time jump, and as a result of that we will see
many characters in different places than they were through the
first half of this season or really the entire series. We will see
more of Rollo in Paris, Ragnar challenging anyone who wants to
take his kingdom from him, Lagertha and Aslaug will battle it out
for the title of Queen and now that his sons are all grown up they
will have a much larger role.

TELLTALE'S THE WALKING DEAD: MICHONNE FINALE DROPS NEXT WEEK

The final chapter in Telltale Games' The Walking Dead: Michonne miniseries is scheduled to release on all platforms next week, April 26.
Titled "What We Deserve," the finale has titular character
Michonne "feeling the weight of choices both recent and long
ago."
According to Telltale, your choices "will determine who lives,
who dies, and what redemption really means."
While the story of previous episodes didn't stand out to us, the
character of Michonne shines. While the other characters seem
flat, we still liked the previous entry into the series.

HBO released 9 new photos from the first episode of 'Game of Thrones' season 6

The sixth season of "Game of Thrones"
premieres on April 24, and HBO has been
rolling out promo after promo for the exciting
first episode. Previously we had both full-length
trailers and a set of 20 photos , but no way of
knowing which images corresponded with
specific upcoming episodes.
But on April 21, HBO released a set of nine
pictures, all of which are from the first
episode of season six, " The Red Woman."
Scroll down for a peek at what to expect on
Sunday:

In the North, Ramsay looks at
Myranda's dead body. He is clearly
upset, and not just because his
mistress is dead.

Sansa escaped from Ramsay's
grasp, along with Theon, during last
season's finale episode. They are on
the run and hiding from Ramsay's
hunting dogs.

We saw in a released clip that Theon
and Sansa enter a freezing river to
try and shake off the animals.

In Braavos, Arya is blinded and in the midst of a bloody fight with the Waif, her nemesis at the House of Black and White.

Meanwhile, Daenerys is standing in front of the new Khal. This is our first close-up look at the man.

In the January teaser for season six , we heard a man talking to Daenerys in Dothraki. He said: "You are nobody. The millionth of your name. Queen of Nothing." Our guess is that this conversation is taking place in the above photo.

We also have a zoomed-out shot of the entire Khalasar. Pretty epic.

And it looks like we'll revisit Dorne in episode one. Here is Prince Doran and Ellaria, who looks surprisingly unthreatened. Was the prince OK with the murder of Myrcella after all?

The ship containing Jaime, Bronn, Trystane, and Myrcella's body is heading to dock in King's Landing.

Queen Cersei looks distressed — she must know about her daughter Myrcella's murder in Dorne.

"Jason Bourne 5" Trailer Is Here With New Poster

We've been teased with various snippets of Jason Bourne
footage since the Super Bowl and at long last, we've finally
been treated to a full-length trailer - starring Matt Damon in all
his action-packed glory.
Set to be one of summer 2016's most-anticipated
blockbusters, Jason Bourne follows the hugely successful
'00s action trilogy of The Bourne Identity, The Bourne
Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum .
There was, of course, a slight detour after that with Jeremy
Renner's The Bourne Legacy in 2012 – the general consensus
being that he was OK – but there was a collective sigh of relief
when Damon was brought back into the fold.
And as you can see, the trailer is full-throttle, action-packed
Bourne at his best.
Damon, who last played the steely CIA agent in
2007, previously told ComingSoon : "[In] The Bourne Ultimatum ,
the third act actually dovetails with the third act of The Bourne
Supremacy .
"So technically when the Bourne character disappears, it's still
2004. So when this next one comes out [in 2016], it will have
been 12 years in movie years that the character has been off
the grid.

MTV's The Shannara Chronicles Renewed for Season 2

When it debuted back in January, The Shannara Chronicles was deemed something of a game changer for MTV and it's proven to be just that, with ratings - traditional, digital and Live Plus 7 - higher than anything the network offered this past season, and now it's been renewed for year two.
In season one of The Shannara Chronicles, an army of evil demons that have been locked away for centuries in a magical prison created by the elves have begun to escape and are bringing death and destruction upon the world. Young Wil Ohmsford (Austin Butler) learns he is the last of the Shannara bloodline and has undiscovered powers within him; the same powers his ancestors once used to rid the world of demons. Princess Amberle (Poppy Drayton) is the grand-daughter of the Eleven King (John Rhys-Davies), and she is chosen to go on the quest needed to restore the magical prison. The only one fit to protect her on the journey is Wil, and so the two of them set off on a seemingly impossible quest to save the world, as demons and other obstacles stand in their way.

No word from the network on when the show will return or for how many episodes.

These Moments From The Fifth Season Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ Will Define The Show’s Future

Unlike other prestige dramas, which tend to contain story arcs within seasons and half seasons, Game of Thrones is so complicated that the story continues to just build and build. At this point we’ve got over 50 characters on two continents, all pursuing their own ambitions.

To prepare you for the show’s season six kick-off this Sunday, we’ve decided to take a look back at the goings-on from season five (which you can stream on HBO Now) and how events from those episodes will guide what we see in the new season, because actions have consequences, the North remembers, and Lannisters always pay their debts.

(Spoilers ahead, so if you aren’t caught up, it might be best to look away.)

Maggy The Frog’s Prophecy

HBO

The first scene from season five sets Cersei Lannister up to travel a rocky road for the remaining seasons of Game of Thrones. In one of the show’s few flashbacks, we see a young Cersei demand to learn her future from Maggy the Frog, a witch who lives near Casterly Rock. Maggy tells her four things about her future: That she would be queen. That she would be cast down by another, younger and more beautiful queen who would take all she held dear. That she will have three children… while Robert would have 20. And that her children would wear gold crowns, and gold burial shrouds.

Season five opened with Cersei still dealing with the loss of Joffrey, and now Myrcella is dead, as well. If you want to understand the paranoia and fear that is going to be driving her through season six, look no further than Maggy the Frog’s prophecy.

Jorah Contracts Greyscale

HBO

Jorah Mormont would probably have been willing to throw his life away to help his Khaleesi even before he contracted the dreaded greyscale disease that slowly turns people to stone while trying to deliver Tyrion to Daenerys while sailing through Valyria in “Kill the Boy.” Expect an even more fatalistic Jorah than we’ve seen in the past in season six, especially because he’s traveling with the man Daenerys didn’t spurn, Daario Naharis.

Will being on a mission to save his love make Jorah a more pleasant traveling companion than Tyrion endured in season five? Or are we about to see a heartbroken Jorah conflicted by his feelings, angry about his impending death, and jealous of Daario to the point where a betrayal may be imminent?

The Sand Snakes Poison Myrcella

HBO

I know, no one is especially excited at the prospect of more misadventures involving the Sand Snakes. But the Lannisters always pay their debts, and Ellaria Sand racked up a pretty impressive debt by killing one of the kingdom’s royal children in “Mother’s Mercy.” Justice for Myrcella may end up coming at the hands of the Dornish. Doran Martell has a reputation for being cautious and therefore often inactive. But when someone in your royal family murders the king of Westeros’ sister, the cautious thing to do is execute that family member.

One thing is for sure: We haven’t seen the last of the Dornish, and it goes to reason that they’re about to play a larger role in how things shake out north of their secluded kingdom.

The Discovery That Valyrian Steel Can Kill White Walkers

HBO

The White Walkers easily decimated the living during the Battle of Hardhome in “Hardhome,” but it wasn’t a total shutout for the undead. Jon Snow managed to score one for the living by destroying a White Walker with his Valyrian steel blade. Up until that moment, the White Walkers seemed pretty invincible. But when the sword given to Jon by Lord Commander Mormont stops the Others’ weapon, we saw a moment of shock in the creature’s face. A second blow from Longclaw shattered the White Walker into thousands of shards, and all of a sudden the living had another way (alongside dragonglass) to kill the creatures controlling this undead army.

Tyrion Jumping Into The Slave Pits To Fight The Harpies

HBO

Tyrion starts the season a broken drunk, becomes a prisoner and then a slave, and finally ends up the effective ruler of Meereen. It’s enough reversals of fortune to give a person whiplash, and it all comes down to Tyrion’s decision to jump into the pit with Daenerys and fight with her and her loyal supporters against the Harpies in “The Gift.”

Up until that point, all Tyrion had given anyone was words. Even as an advisor to the queen, he was an outsider, and Daenerys was still regularly contemplating having him executed whenever he offered her counsel she didn’t like or brought up other Lannisters like Jaime that he still professed loyalty to. But when the Harpies attacked, he threw his lot in with her, saving Missandei and entering the pit with little hesitation to fight.

That’s going to change a lot of things for him. While his grasp on power may be weak while Dany is away and Daario chases him, there’s no question as to his allegiance and goals. We’ll get to see Tyrion as part of Team Targaryen. Alongside Varys, he should prove a worthy adversary to anyone trying to usurp power while Daenerys is gone.

Cersei Lannister’s Walk Through King’s Landing

HBO

It didn’t take long for the new High Septon in King’s Landing to start throwing his weight around, arresting Loras Tyrell for unholy fornication and then Queen Margaery for lying about said fornication. King Tommen and Olenna Tyrell weren’t able to free them, and when Cersei Lannister met with the High Septon, he had her thrown into a cell, as well.

Somehow, he thought shaving her head and sending her back to the Red Keep naked was a good idea, and now he’s probably going to spend season six dealing with a pissed off Lannister who has the reanimated corpse of Ser Gregor Clegane by her side. Lady Tyrell learned the limits of politics in her meetings with the Sparrows, and now Cersei is going to test the bounds of violence to get her way.

The Night’s Watch Kill A Traitor

HBO

The last time the Night’s Watch killed their Lord Commander, Jon Snow led a team of black brothers to hunt them down and kill them all. It’s likely the group of men who killed Jon Snow were mostly true of heart and actually believed Snow’s decisions were going to destroythe Watch. But it’s hard to shake the feeling that this isn’t going to save them from a similar fate.

For all the enemies Jon Snow made on the Wall, he’s still got a lot of friends. Not only did he have enough to get elected Lord Commander, he’s also got a shellshocked Melisandre, the very loyal Davos Seaworth, and of course that Wildling army now led by Tormund Giantsbane that’s already been let through the gates. Strife is going to play a major part in season six once people discover what happened to Jon Snow. It could destroy what’s left of the Night’s Watch entirely.

BONUS: Bran Meets The Three-Eyed Raven

HBO

Though technically a part of season four, we can’t understate the importance of Bran finally reaching the Three-Eyed Raven north of the wall and beginning his training. When you’re fighting a magical army of undead warriors, a bit of magic on your own side goes a long way. And it looks like the Three-Eyed Raven is going to be giving Bran (and through Bran, us) an education not just in how magic works in the world of Game of Thrones, but the history of the lands that has gotten us to this point.

Bran’s ability to harness this knowledge could make or break the fight for humanity on the show, which seems a lot more important in the big picture than who ends up holding the Iron Throne or the North or Meereen or wherever.

Game of Thrones season six debuts this Sunday April 24 at 9 p.m. on HBO.

Now that Virtual Reality is here, "Magic Leap" reminds us that augmented reality is on deck

Google made a big splash when it threw its support behind Magic Leap with a$542 million investment last year. Immediately people began wondering what exactly Mountain View was so excited about that it was willing to drop half a billion dollars as pure investment -- not even an acquisition. Unfortunately, the startup continues to guard its secrets closely. All we know is that Magic Leap has some sort of wearable that blends augmented reality and virtual reality

Now that consumer virtual reality is here, with the arrival of the
leading HTC Vive and runner-up Oculus Rift , Magic Leap is here
to remind us that there's yet another next big thing waiting in the
wings. Many believe that augmented reality will eventually
replace the smartphone – using eye-worn gear to (appear to)
place apps and games inside the real world around us, rather
than on the screen of a handheld device or inside an isolated
virtual world. Mysterious startup Magic Leap launched a new
video today to remind us that it's cooking up that very future.
While Microsoft has been eager to associate its name with AR
right out of the gates, showing off its Hololens AR kit at various
convention demos, Magic Leap has been doing something
similar in a more secretive way, creating buzz and raising
beaucoup bucks without giving the public or press any glimpses
or major details of the device itself.
We do occasionally get to see first-person Magic Leap videos
shot using real footage, though, and we got another one of
those today.

'Billions' Season 2 Will Highlight Why Damian Lewis’s Bobby Axelrod is TV's Greatest Anti-Hero

Billions operates in a high-stakes world already, but if there’s
one thing it has earned, then it’s our attention. From the outset,
Billions exceeded our expectations and did so right up to the
final moments of a wild first season . With that, we can already
begin to look ahead to Billions season 2.
The Showtime drama was renewed after only two episodes , and
for good reason. Billions was the highest-rated debut for a
Showtime original series, with the network claiming that 6.5
million people sampled the premiere across multiple platforms.
The series’ ratings remained steady at more than a 1 million
viewers per episode, and critical reception was increasingly
more positive as the season went on (it’s sitting at 72 percent
fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, 69 on Metacritic).

With his ties to Wendy eliminated — and Giamatti, now
single, busy rubbing the salt in Axe’s wounds — Season 2
will inevitably find Axe remaking himself, both professionally
and personally. He has nowhere else to go, and he hasn’t
shaken off his bad PR for the 9/11 stunt, or his other messy
conflicts. As for the conflict with the U.S. Attorney’s office,
the “playing dirty” we’ve only seen glimpses of from Axe
this season (mostly, covert surveillance operations) will no
doubt ramp up. They’ll have to, since he now knows Chuck
is willing to play the same game. Chuck’s baiting will push
Axe to stay even more on the offensive, expanding his
operations beyond just tailing Chuck to S&M clubs.
Billions Season 1 pulled us into caring about these
characters, and understanding their self-contradictions and
warped senses of morality, but like the Empire Strikes Back to
its New Hope , Season 2 will show us how far they’re willing
to go to prevail.
