At this year’s Game Developer’s Conference, Sony finally put a release date and price on their PlayStation VR. It will arrive in October and will have a smaller price tag than its competitors, the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Sony has even promised that at least 50 VR specific titles will be available before the end of the year, all of which they require will run at 60 FPS.
The bundle will include: PS VR headset, PS VR cables, stereo headphones, PS VR Demo Disc, a PlayStation Camera, two PlayStation Move controllers, the PlayStation VR Demo Disc, and a copy of PlayStation VR Worlds. Interested PlayStation 4 owners will be able to pre-order the bundle starting at 7am PT on Tuesday, March 22. It will cost $499.99, so that’s $100 more than the recommended retail price of the PS VR headset alone, which Sony hopes shows significant value for money. There will be a limited amount available but a second wave will be put on pre-sale in the summer.
