EA Sports has announced that it’s shaking things up with this
year’s instalment of FIFA, ditching the Ignite engine in favour of
Frostbite, which the publisher has used on many of its
franchises such as Battlefield , Star Wars Battlefront and
Mirror’s Edge . It’s not quite clear what impact that will have on
the game, but the press release promises that it “delivers
authentic, true-to-life action, takes players to new football
worlds, and introduces fans to characters full of depth and
emotion.”

FIFA 17 is set for release on September 27th in North America
and September 29th elsewhere, arriving on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox
360, PS3 and PC. Expect more details at E3.
